9 Congressional Staff Exchange Participants will be coming from Mexico to make professional connections in San Diego exploring the following:

• Connect Mexican congressional staff with new and existing U.S. congressional staff; facilitate positive working relationships and open channels of communication among congressional staff from both countries; learn about the new administration’s priorities and policies, especially as they impact foreign policy toward Mexico; expose legislators to the roles of federal, state and local legislators/government officials in serving constituents and in the policymaking process; demonstrate the role of public/private partnerships, which serve to promote enhanced community services, encourage economic growth and ensure public accountability; and meet with state and local officials and civil society organizations to examine their perspectives on inter-border commerce, migration and social services.
