SUMMARY:Travel as a Political Act
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe San Diego Diplomacy Council and the WorldView Project present Travel as a Political Act\, a Talk-About Event featuring Steve Smith and Jake Heilbrunn. \nSteve Smith is best known as Rick’s France tour guide in several episodes of Rick Steves’ Europe on public television\, and as the co-author of Rick’s France and Paris guidebooks. His love for the farmhouse he and his wife renovated in Burgundy — where he lived for several years — is rivaled only by his passion for Volkswagen Westphalia campers. Steve spends his summers researching guidebooks for Rick Steves’ Europe. When he’s in the US\, Steve manages Tour Planning and Guide Services\, helping send tens of thousands of happy travelers to Europe each year. Here is an interview with Steve about his work:https://www.ricksteves.com/tours/guides/steve-smith \n\n\n\n\nJake Heilbrunn\, at just 20 years old\, has spoken live to over 11\,000 people\, published a best-selling book\, been interviewed on over 50\npodcast/radio interviews\, and has been featured in top media outlets including Psychology Today and The San Diego Union-Tribune. After an\nunfulfilling semester in college\, Jake took a bold leap of faith to pursue his dream. After hopping on a one-way flight to Guatemala\, he spent four\nmonths backpacking through Central America and exploring different ways of life. He discovered there are infinite ways to live and that people can create their own destinies through self-reflection and by taking action. Jake is living proof that when we listen to our inner voice and commit to our vision\, anything is possible.(https://www.jakeheilbrunn.com/) \n\n\n\n\n\n RSVP here
