Investigating and Prosecuting Human Rights Violations

7 visitors from various countries will be coming to make professional connections in San Diego exploring the following specific objectives for the project outlined by the Department of State:
- Discuss the key elements in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and its guiding principles;
- Highlight the roles of law enforcement, the criminal justice system, and civil society in the investigation, documentation, prosecution, and prevention of human rights violations;
- Examine assistance programs and support groups for victims of human rights abuses; and
- Explore how new and traditional media outlets report and raise awareness about human rights.
