Save-The-Date: Culinary Diplomacy Between the U.S. and China
February 15: 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
The San Diego Diplomacy Council and the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum invite San Diego residents and visitors to their table for a taste of varied Chinese regional cuisine and a dialogue on U.S.-China culinary diplomacy.
The San Diego Diplomacy Council has spent the last 40 years creating professional, cultural, and educational experiences that connect San Diego with the rest of the world, in order to build trust, dialogue, and peace. “Now more than ever, we need citizens that can navigate both China and America – linguistically, culturally, and perceptually – to improve the U.S.-China relationship at the grassroots level,” said Fabienne Perlov, executive director of the San Diego Diplomacy Council. “It is imperative that our understanding of each other is guided not by our politicians, but by average citizens wanting connections beyond that of the State,” added Juliana Gay, executive director of the San Diego Chinese Historical Museum.
Please note: the SDCHM’s Mission building will be OPEN until 6:00 to receive and re-direct event guests to the venue at Second Avenue. We welcome all to join in on the dialogue at the Chuang Archive and Learning Center on February 15th!
