Thank you for helping us build a more peaceful and stable future.
Thanks to YOU, we completed and surpassed our fundraising campaign #GiveHopeFindHope's goal by raising $42,110 by September 1st! Your generous contribution directly helps us sustain the virtual programs that keep us all connected and engaged virtually in diplomacy and international affairs while all our in-person programs and events are canceled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Because of your contributions, we are able to continue hosting innovative online programs such as our Summer Global Leaders Online Program for teens, E-Cultural Diplomacy Program, E-Talk About Series Events, and our Global Leaders Online Forums.
If you supported us in any way, THANK YOU! Because of your help, we can continue to generate a better world -one of trust, dialogue, and collaboration among nations.
Your contribution helps us to:
Inform and engage San Diegans of all ages in international affairs and diplomacy
Support our operations while all our in-person programs are on pause and international borders are closed
Re-connect San Diegans with world emerging and current leaders who participated in our programs
Use the hashtag #GiveHopeFindHope to share your favorite virtual or in-person program on social media.
Friends of the San Diego Diplomacy Council,
As we continue to navigate the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic we would like to personally reach out and update you on how the San Diego Diplomacy Council is adapting. For 40 years, the San Diego Diplomacy Council has built trust, dialogue, and collaboration on shared challenges. Our work has never been more important which is why we have chosen to be resilient and innovative. We invite you to stay engaged with us during this challenging time.
In light of the rapidly evolving COVID-19 pandemic, all our exchange programs and events are on pause until September 30th.
In the meantime, we are working remotely, developing innovative online programs for you to stay connected and engaged in citizen diplomacy with your community and the world.
Our E-Talk-About Series focuses on issues of current concern, featuring a subject-matter expert and a mediator. The event begins with a presentation from our guest, before opening for questions. The Series is hosted on Zoom, and is open to all members and non-members.
The Cultural Diplomacy Series offer international cultural and art educational events to raise our community’s global awareness in a fun and socializing environment. The concept is to offer you a unique understanding of a country’s language, customs, religion, and art through culinary class, art exhibits, theater plays, and live music.
Global Leaders Online Forum
We're proud to offer our Global Leaders Online Forum featuring the opportunity to hear from and re-connect with our alumni, who have previously visited San Diego as part of an exchange program. Each event will highlight the experience and expertise of our alumni on specific global issues and the impact of their exchange.
Global Leaders Online Program For Teens
In partnership with La Jolla Country Day School, we are offering a four week Summer Global Leaders Online Program for students aged 14-18 years old. This unique opportunity will enable participants in San Diego and around the world to engage with questions plaguing the world’s most critical thinkers. From nuclear proliferation to sustainability negotiations, our program has been curated with future leaders in mind.
Thank you to these individuals and organizations that have given their support.
