The cohort is a group of individuals characterized by their diverse backgrounds and exceptional talents. Our interns are comprised with expertise in fields such as international relations, cultural studies, communications, and project management. Hannah Frazey
Hi everyone! My name is Hannah Frazey and I am currently a junior at San Diego State University, studying international business with an emphasis in Spanish and Western Europe. I am currently the treasurer for Spanish Language Society at SDSU, so I am very interested in learning more about promoting cultural exchange and linguistic diversity within my school’s community and SDDC’S community as well. I have always had a deeper passion for international relations and a commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding. I am excited to learn how to help make a significant impact in the field of diplomacy, embodying the values of innovation, collaboration, and excellence through my position as executive intern.
Daniela Garcia Cervantes
Daniela is a San Diego native, and is currently finishing up her Bachelor’s Degree in International Security and Conflict Resolution, with an emphasis in Justice in the Global System, from San Diego State University. Alongside her major, she is also double minoring in Public Health and Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. Her interest in diplomacy stems from her passion from community involvement and cultivating changes through policy and cooperation. She is currently a Communications Intern for SDDC and enjoys working on projects that ensure viable and important information is shared with the community.
Fiona Sullivan
Fiona is currently enrolled in her final semester at San Diego State University, majoring in International Security and Conflict Resolution with an emphasis on Justice in the Global System. Fiona’s passions for cultural learning, travel, and people have led her to study abroad in various regions of the world. These experiences abroad have deepened her understanding that human centered approaches to conflict resolution are crucial for building sustainable peace in our global society. Fiona is enthusiastic about becoming a Development Intern with San Diego Diplomacy Council and is interested in conflict management, gender issues, and human rights.
Jessica Calderon
Currently serving as a program intern at SDDC, Jessica is a fourth-year student at San Diego State University, where she majors in International Business with a concentration in Spanish and Western Europe, accompanied by a minor in Marketing. Originating from El Salvador, she spent her formative years in Los Angeles, California, and she fostered her academic growth and cultural enrichment during a transformative study abroad semester in Madrid, Spain. Her experiences in both academia and diverse cultural settings have ignited her passion for the profound influence of culture on global society, shaping her interest in global relations and diplomacy.
Ethan Besnard
I am currently an undergraduate student at San Diego State University majoring in International Business with an emphasis in Spanish and Latin America. I am an ambitious student and learner, and looking to make a positive global impact through working with the San Diego Diplomacy Council as a Program Intern. I hope to learn more about the background of nonprofit organizations and continue my work in international relations.

Isabella Castro
Isabella Castro works as a Program Intern for the San Diego Diplomacy Council. After graduating from UCLA with a BA in Political Science (’23), she will pursue her Master of International Relations at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Affairs in DC (’24), as a Public Service Fellow. Along with her role at SDDC, Isabella serves as the Director of Young Adults for California’s League of United Latin American Citizens, a nonprofit advocating for the civil rights of Latinos in the US. Isabella’s passion for foreign policy and diplomacy fuels her career aspirations of joining the foreign service.
