45 Years of the San Diego Diplomacy Council
The San Diego Diplomacy Council is excited and proud to honor our 45th anniversary this year! From our small beginnings as a volunteer run organization in 1979, to becoming a nationally-recognized organization focused on connecting San Diego to the world, we are proud of our past and excited about our future. None of our growth or impact could have been realized without the support of you, our San Diego community. Support 45 years of SDDC
We hope you’ll choose to support the San Diego Diplomacy Council as we celebrate our 45th anniversary. Please consider donating to the SDDC in one of our 45th Anniversary Themed Tiers of Donation:
- $4.50 ‘Give a cup!’: With a donation equal to “a cup of coffee”, you will receive a complimentary collaborative conversation with the new Director of Development. Share with me your best ideas to help us make the most impact.
- $45 ‘Give the Gift of Membership’: Allows you to nominate up to 5 people for a gift of membership. Membership benefits include the opportunity to meet with the almost 500 international visitors we’ve hosted from 111 countries.
- $450 ‘Global Youth Leadership Program (GLYP) Scholarship’: Fund a scholarship for one student to attend our summer youth program which annually hosts over 110 local students. You will also receive letters of appreciation from your sponsored student.
- $4500 'Global Social Hour Host': Our highest level offers the opportunity to sponsor a customized Global Social Hour in partnership with one of our 50+ yearly IVLP and custom programming!
Ways to Give
Monetary Gifts - Pledge a one-time or recurring gift by clicking here or making a gift via Venmo (@SanDiego-Diplomacy). Gifts that are not designated for a particular program or activity provide the funds to help sustain our vital programs and enhance global engagement through diplomacy. Gifts may be directed to a specific program, activity, or need if directed by the donor. Please contact heidi@sandiegodiplomacy.org to discuss any directed gifts.
Gifts of Stock and Other Property - We accept gifts of stock and other property. The IRS provides generous incentives for charitable gifts in many forms. Donating appreciated property allows the donor to claim a charitable tax deduction based on the full fair market value of the gift and avoid capital gains tax. Gifts of real estate, stocks, bonds, and certain other real property can provide valuable benefit to the San Diego Diplomacy Council. To make a gift of stock through a wire transfer, your broker may transfer the shares directly to San Diego Diplomacy Council’s account. Please contact operations@sandiegodiplomacy.org to arrange gifts of assets.
Planned Giving - Many of our supporters have included the San Diego Diplomacy Council in their wills. Consider naming the San Diego Diplomacy Council in your trust or will or making a memorial gift in honor of a loved one. Please contact us with any questions.
