Please consider making a donation to San Diego Diplomacy Council’s 2022 End of Year Campaign.
Dear Partners, Members and Friends:
Your support helps the San Diego Diplomacy Council change lives – and thanks to a matching grant you can have twice the impact this December! Our visitors – selected by the U.S. State Department in many cases – are young leaders who have overcome many challenges, yet remain committed to becoming global changemakers. They inspire and impress the San Diego counterparts who hold expert-level discussions with them, learning as much as they share. What all participants – local and global – tell us, is that the experience is life-changing.
Students who spend their summer learning cultural sensitivity, effective world communication and negotiation skills as part of our Global Leadership Youth Program give us the same feedback – their experience was life changing, and 94 percent said they would repeat the course. Whether they take a one-week program or stay for the full five-week curriculum, our alumni are ready to use the skills we teach to become a force for positive change in the world. Year on year we’ve grown the program and this year offered 50 percent of students a full scholarship. Your donations change lives and build tomorrow’s world leaders.
With your support, next year will be even busier, as we move closer to pre-covid levels of delegation travel, youth education, public outreach, and community engagement. We will be hosting a study tour to Morocco open to our members, with expert insights into of one of America’s oldest global partners. We have created a Global Youth Collaborative, which extends our summer youth leadership programs into the school year. Best of all – our Executive Director Heidi Knuff will return from parental leave!
This December one of our members, excited about our work in the year come, has offered to match any donation received this month, up to $7000. Please consider that your gift can have double the impact, changing twice as many lives, and donate to the San Diego Diplomacy Council as part of your end-of-year giving.
Thank you
Ambassador (retired) Leslie Bassett
