Join the Cultural Ambassador Program
The Cultural Ambassador Program by the San Diego Diplomacy Council is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to make a meaningful impact while enhancing their resumes. We are seeking passionate volunteers who can dedicate approximately 15 hours per year to foster cross-cultural understanding and build connections between local communities and international guests.
Volunteer Activities
As a Cultural Ambassador, you will engage in various activities designed to support our mission of promoting cultural exchange. Here’s a closer look at each category:
1. Cultural Engagement and Hosting
As a host, you will welcome international guests into your home or community, sharing your local customs, traditions, and daily life in San Diego. This role is vital in helping guests acclimate to U.S. culture, fostering a sense of belonging and understanding.
2. Fundraising and Event Support
Join our team in planning and executing fundraising events that are crucial for the council’s financial sustainability. This role allows you to utilize your organizational and communication skills while contributing to impactful initiatives that support our mission.
3. Recruitment and Community Engagement
Help us grow our community by promoting the council’s initiatives and recruiting new volunteers and members. This role is essential in expanding our network and increasing awareness of our programs within the community.
