17 visitors from Europe will expose participants to U.S. security and the defense policy-making process and perspectives on global issues; examine specific security issues, such as regional conflicts, weapons proliferation, energy security, homeland security, international terrorism, and the use of preventive diplomacy to address these challenges; discuss the European security architecture, including the evolving roles of NATO, the EU, the UN, and other international organizations in dealing with global crises; and explore the benefits of U.S.-European cooperation on security policy worldwide.
