Towards A More Safe and Secure World: International Peace and Security

17 visitors from Europe will be coming to make professional connections in San Diego exploring the following specific objectives for the project outlined by the Department of State:
- Expose participants to the U.S. security and defense policy-making process and perspectives on global issues;
- Examine specific security issues, such as regional conflicts, weapons proliferation, energy security, homeland security, international terrorism, and the use of preventive diplomacy to address these challenges;
- Discuss the role of the UN and other international organizations in dealing with global crises; and
- Explore the benefits of bilateral and multilateral cooperation on security policy worldwide.
