SAN DIEGO, CA — The San Diego Diplomacy Council (SDDC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Gardenswartz as President of its Board of Directors. He succeeds Mark Ballam, who will continue to serve as a member of the Board.
“Daniel brings extensive experience in law, governance, and community leadership. As former Managing Partner and current General Counsel of Solomon Ward Seidenwurm & Smith LLP, prior non-profit Board chair experience, and his current board membership and active participation in other non-profit and international networking organizations, Daniel has a longstanding commitment to civic engagement and international collaboration.
In accepting this position, Daniel explained: “I am deeply honored to serve as President of the Board of the San Diego Diplomacy Council. Helping to build bridges across borders and cultures is key to avoiding misunderstandings and creating important opportunities, and I look forward to working with the fantastic professional and Board leaders to strengthen SDDC’s critical citizen diplomacy mission.” 
The San Diego Diplomacy Council extends its heartfelt gratitude to Mark Ballam for his outstanding leadership and service as Board President. During his tenure and particularly throughout a pivotal transition period for SDDC, Mark provided steadfast guidance and vision that significantly strengthened the organization’s reach, resilience, and impact across the region. Mark will remain an active member of the Board of Directors, continuing to lend his invaluable guidance and experience to the Council.
