Cultural Diplomacy through Music Event

December 9, 2017: 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Please join us as we host a private reception followed by a concert showcasing Wu Man and Bill Bradbury at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad.

Wu Man traveled with Yo-Yo Ma as part of The Music of Strangers – Yo-yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble inspired by the exchange of ideas and traditions along the historical Silk Road. Wu Man was awarded The Bunting Fellowship at Harvard University in 1998, and she was also the first Chinese traditional musician to be awarded The United States Artist Fellowship in 2008. She was also the first Chinese artist to perform at the White House.

The reception, complete with appetizers and refreshments, will feature a Meet & Greet with Wu Man. She will share her experience as a music citizen diplomat. The reception will take place at 5 pm and at 6 pm those in attendance will be given the opportunity to tour the museum before the show at 7pm.50 tickets are currently available for $25 and $35.
