The San Diego Diplomacy Council Pledges:
To incorporate global and community diversity in every aspect of our operations, programming, engagement and presence.
The San Diego Diplomacy Council community acknowledges serious institutional and social inequities persist both locally and globally. We commit to making the organizational, programmatic and engagement reforms needed for contributions to positive and enduring change. As a bridge between San Diego and the world, we will address existing challenges related to race, gender, religion, and other differences in order to improve and accelerate inclusion.
We pledge to reform:
Incorporate diversity in hiring, hosting, partnering and inviting speakers and participants to share in activities that will always highlight the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Expect our vendors, sponsors, donors, members and colleague organizations to share and implement our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
Expand our institutional engagement in training, community events, affinity organizations and outreach to be visible proponents of positive change.
Pledges alone will not change practices and plans. Only through dialogue, presence, considered reform and disciplined assessment can we make the needed changes in our organization, our community and the world. We commit to that work and leadership.
