In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the San Diego Diplomacy Council just received a challenge gift from a generous donor. The anonymous donor made this donation because of the great work we have done over the last 40 years in building bridges between people and countries to promote peace and stability in our world. The donor has vowed to match every new dollar raised up in November to $5,000.
Invitation from our donor: “As we approach the time of “Giving Thanks” I am writing in the hopes that you may assist us in supporting the San Diego Diplomacy Council and the profound good it spreads in our world. We believe in the urgency to focus on our common humanity, to resist the cynicism of what divides us and to empower the potential of diplomacy at the personal level. Through rich, engaging and relevant programs, the San Diego Diplomacy Council continues to facilitate professional exchanges, personal experiences and authentic connections where true diplomacy flourishes. Please join us in supporting the important work the San Diego Diplomacy Council does throughout the year. Any donation received in November will be matched up to $5,000″.
In 2019 we were able to host over 873 international visitors, and with your help, that number will continue to grow. Out of all our 2019 international survey respondents, 74% said that their time in San Diego changed their perception of our city and country. Our community has made a lot of progress, but in our current political climate, we need you now more than ever to promote trust, dialogue and collaboration with other nations.
