19 visitors from multiple countries in Europe will be coming to make professional connections in San Diego exploring the following specific objectives for the project outlined by the Department of State:
- Expose participants to the U.S. security and defense policy-making process and perspectives on global issues;
- Examine specific security issues, such as regional conflicts, weapons proliferation, energy security, homeland security, international terrorism, and the use of preventive diplomacy to address these challenges;
- Discuss the European security architecture, including the evolving roles of NATO, the EU, the UN, and other international organizations in dealing with global crises; and;
- Explore the benefits of U.S. European cooperation on security policy worldwide.
