Program Directors Natalie and Heidi went to Vietnam and Laos for two weeks this March to plan for our first youth sports diplomacy program this summer. The volleyball trip this summer will include training and matches with 4 teams in both Vietnam and Laos. During their visit to Hanoi, Heidi and Natalie met with the Vietnam Sports Administration and the talented girls our teams will be playing this July. In Luang Prabang, Laos they met with a small village on the Mekong River where they will teach volleyball and learn “kataw”, or Lao foot volleyball. The girls from Monarch High School and Exodus Social Justice Volleyball Club will be playing at sports centers in Hanoi and Halong Bay, Vietnam and at a sports complex in Luang Prabang, Laos.
