As part of our goal of creating a pipeline of future change-makers within our community, the San Diego Diplomacy Council is proud to offer the Global Youth Leadership Program – School Year for students interested in international affairs.
The Global Youth Leadership Program- School Year was launched as a fall/winter enrichment program in October 2020. In partnership with La Jolla Country Day School, The program included five two-week modules. At the conclusion of each module’s programming, students gained a nuanced understanding of a timely, global issue, information about career paths in the field of international affairs and diplomacy, increased cultural competency and understanding through strengthened leadership and civic engagement skills, and a Certificate of Excellence in Global Citizenship on the topic of the week.
During the 2020-2021 academic year, the program took place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 PM PST. The program cost $130 per module or $620 for all modules.
The San Diego Diplomacy Council is delighted to offer sponsorships to our Global Youth Leadership Program – School Year for students in financial need who cannot pay our program fee. Sponsorships are provided by Chinyeh Hostler and generous donations from other generous supporters from the community.
