The First Collingsworth Global Social Hour of the Year

January 13, 2017 Leave a Comment

On Tuesday, January 17 we hosted our first Global Social Hour of the new year, ‘Citizen Diplomats: Catalysts for Interconnection,’ at Sempra Energy. High-level judicial experts from 7 countries including Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon were in attendance to share their unique knowledge and experience with us on entrepreneurial, judicial, and environmental issues in their home countries. Other delegations in attendance were entrepreneurs and small business owners from 13 different countries, as well as 2 French environment experts. We had a wonderful time with everyone who joined us. We always look forward to this special event, and hope to see you there at our next one.

We are very appreciative of our corporate member Sempra Energy for hosting and sponsoring this event, and to the U.S. Department of State for sponsoring the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) delegations that were in attendance.

The Collingsworth Global Social Hour Series is possible because of the tremendous support of our remembered friend, Arthur J. Collingsworth, and his partner Brian Simmons. Collingsworth was an American United Nations official, international student exchange executive, consultant on international fundraising and real estate investor. He lived in in San Diego, Japan, The United Kingdom, Czech Republic and Germany and was a great supporter of the San DIego Diplomacy Council and our LGBT Diplomacy efforts.
