The Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative Pitch Competition is part of the fellowship program from the U.S. Department of State’s Young Leaders Initiative (YLAI) professional fellows program. As part of the program, 12 young social entrepreneurs from Latin America and the Caribbean work and live in San Diego to build lasting relations with local entrepreneurial organizations and companies. At the competition, each fellow has an opportunity to present their business or organizational pitch to our group of judges. The winner will be recording his or her pitch and they will be featured on the YLAI portal and the top 10 will present in Washington, D.C. during the closing summit. We are honored to have as our judges Kyle Moss from Qualcomm, Alex Waters from SD Downtown Partnership, Anatoly Devyataykin from Co-mmunity, and Bill Harrington who is an Investor. The competition will be covering themes such as Urban Agriculture, Snack Foods, Emergency Services App, Sustainability, Recycling/Robotics, LGBT Rights, HIV Support Services, Women’s Empowerment, STEAM Education, Business Development, Swimwear, and Makers Spaces.
The YLAI Pitch Competition is a free event and will take place at the Fuse Integration at 3 – 5 pm
