9 visitors from Japan will be coming to make professional connections in San Diego exploring the following specific objectives for the project outlined by the Department of State:

• Provide participants with opportunities to share perspectives and ideas on the issues faced by base-hosting communities;
• Discuss the economic externalities of military bases, and
• Explore ways to facilitate strong, positive relations between bases and civilian communities.
