It was a great honor to host our Annual Appreciation Event for our donors, partners, members, and community in celebration of the International Day of Friendship!
It was a pleasure to feature Deputy Assistant Secretary, Susan Crystal, as our keynote speaker of the evening. She spoke upon the importance of relationships throughout the world to find solutions to common challenges and build mutual understanding. Deputy Assistant Secretary Crystal discussed how the International Visitor Leadership Program has had a tremendous impact on international exchange visitors over the past 80 years by offering them new perspectives and professional relationships through their visit to America. The IVLP is an important tool in evaluating American society and leads to a more secure, peaceful, and prosperous world. In Susan Crystal’s final remarks, “Once we change the lives of others, it often leads to positive policies and attitudes in other countries”!”
The event also highlighted the awardees of the Ambassador Charles W. Hostler Award for Citizen Diplomat of the Year to Dennis and Verena Seisun and Partner Organization of the Year Award to Sureride Inc. Advisory Board Member, Chinyeh Hostler, presented the Charles W. Hostler Award to Dennis and Verena for their generosity as hosts, donors, and service providers while promoting peace and understanding. Both of these awards recognize the outstanding contributions of one citizen diplomat and one organization which have partnered with us, contributing greatly to our work and inspiring us.
